Here in the UK supermarket behemoth Tesco has announced it is to offer the Apple iPhone in time for Christmas - a real sign of how mass market the handset is to become.

Going back 2 years, at launch the iPhone was only available on one network - O2 - and through O2, Apple or Carphone Warehouse stores, but fast forward to the present and the mobile is set to be available on three operators, and through a growing network of retailers, including now, Britain's biggest supermarket.

Tesco will offer the phone on its O2-powered Tesco Mobile network, according to a statement from the retailing giant: "Tesco Mobile through its joint venture partnership with O2 is pleased to announce that it will shortly introduce iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS in Tesco Phone Shops and online through Tesco Direct in the UK".

Those hoping for Tesco pricing on the handset will almost certainly be disappointed, O2 and Orange - the two operators that offer the mobile now - have kept contract and handset prices high and with very little difference between them.

If you're a radio lover then this tech deal could transport you to tranny heaven as we take a look at the Tesco DAB-907 Mono radio. Despite its basic functionality it has one redeeming quality - its ?24.97 price tag.

So trying to put any concerns aside of how in fact Tesco manage to sell electronics equipment at this kind of price we can look to the specs.

As stated they are basic - the speakers are of the mono variety with 1 Watt RMS (sustained output), you get a digital tuner with stations and clock shown on an LCD.

If you want to take it out and about you'll need 6 x AA batteries (not included) and it will receive FM as well as DAB.

Like it or not, it's mid November and we're already having Christmas thrust upon us, and if you're one of the many who are planning on centring their Christmas around the tradition of Christmas telly as opposed to the birth of Jesus, then this could be the tech deal for you.

Tesco direct is pushing its Sky+HD boxes by offering one free when you purchase a TV and join the Sky+HD service, admittedly it means shelling out quite a bit of cash but if you're in the market anyway it might be something to consider.

If you join before 24 December you'll also receive a ?50 Tesco Gift Card - as long as you're a new customer. Bear in mind, however, that charges for the Sky+ service range from ?28-?58.50 and minimum sign-up is for 12 months, along with the fact that the Sky+ functionality is rather dependent on your subscription and therefore may become redundant if you decide not to renew.

If you're up for it though it seems like a good offer as you'll be able to store around 30 hours of high-def TV on the unit and Tesco has a decent selection of TVs to choose from, ranging from 14-inchers to 47-inch+ monsters.

Exspect is promising Wii owners "the drive of their life" with its Wii Motion Racing Wheel that's fully compatible with Wii MotionPlus.

For those without the MotionPlus add-on, the wheel can be used without it and is available individually for ?6.99 from Play.com, or as part of a ?19.99 15-in-1 Wii accessory pack available at Tesco and Play.com.

As well as the wheel, the 15-in-1 pack offers golf, tennis, baseball, snooker and sword adaptors, among other bits and bobs.

"Racing games have proven to be one of the big success stories on the Nintendo Wii, so we are delighted to enhance the experience with our new Wii Motion Racing Wheel", said Mike Sanderson, head of development at Exspect.

"Racing games will be high on Christmas lists across the country this year and now they can be enjoyed with added accuracy, as the wheel is fully compatible with the Wii MotionPlus".

In light of the Tesco chief executive Sir Terry Leahy saying that the worst of the recession is over for the UK economy - reporting a 1% rise in pre-tax profit for the company in the first half of the financial year - our tech deal today points you in the direction of some discounts on selected laptops from the retail behemoth.

Although the majority of the laptops seem to be coming from Acer, the pick being the Acer T4200 with 4GB RAM, 420GB hard drive for ?429, there's also a decent discount on the HP Compaq CQ61 for ?359 coming with 2GB RAM, 320GB hard drive and a 15.6-inch screen.

With a choice of just ten laptops it's not the greatest selection but still worth a quick rummage if you're in the market as all of them come with free delivery.
