Pocket-lint has teamed up with Eye-Fi to celebrate the launch of its cards in the UK,and subsequently are giving away 10 Eye-Fi Share Cards with an RRP of ?69.99 each.

The company states that you can "say goodbye to cables with Eye-Fi, the first wireless memory card that automatically sends your memories from your camera to your computer and the web. Eye-Fi has landed in the UK just in time for Christmas and provides the perfect stocking filler for anyone from simple snappers to photography enthusiasts".

To get started, all you do is plug the card reader and Eye-Fi card into your PC or Mac for configuration. All the software is on-board for both Windows and Mac users, meaning there is no fiddling around finding the right software. Configuration is simply a case of setting your network details and defining your preferences.

The competition for the Eye-Fi share card, which, incidentally, has also been nominated for Best Gadget 2009, will last for for 2 weeks and all you have to do to be in with a chance of winning is click through on this link to the competition page, where you'll be required to answer one simple question. Before you do however you might want to check out Pocket-lint's full review,
?as well as 10 perfect Christmas presents for photographers.

NEWS: Xbox 360 update blocks unlicensed memory units

 Watch out for your savegames

If you've got an unauthorised Xbox 360 memory unit, then you might want to think about getting an official one ASAP - the forthcoming software update for the console will render it inoperable.

Xbox Live's Major Nelson posted on his blog that "one of the changes is that unauthorized Memory Units will no longer work with the Xbox 360", adding "If you continue to use an unauthorized Memory Unit after the update, you will not be able to access your stored profile or saved games".

If you have a hard-disk equipped 360 then it's not too big a deal - just shift everything onto your hard drive - but if not then you'll need to buy a licensed unit instead and copy the data across. To know whether it's licensed or not, you need a stamp that says "Licensed for Xbox 360" somewhere on the device or its packaging.
