MagicBox has added an answer machine to its designer Colombo phone.

The Colombo One offers the same styling as the original - inspired by the work of 60s Italian designer Joe Colombo - but also boasts a fully featured digital answer machine.

The retro inspired handset stands upright on a charging base station with the built-in answer machine that can be accessed remotely.

Features include the ability to store up to 250 numbers, text messaging, various ring tones, an alarm clock, caller ID and an "eco" mode.

The Colombo One is available now priced at ?49.99 from Argos.

MagicBox has launched the Noturne XP-1 with the claims it stands out from the crowd with a slide-open iPod dock.

A DAB and FM radio too, the Nocturne is operated via a touch sensitive panel, boasts a blue on black display with backlight, and comes complete with remote control.

Offering alarm clock functions and a sleep timer, the Nocturne gets two 7-Watt speakers as well as a 20-Watt subwoofer.

As far as iPods go, the unit offers playback and charging with seven iPod dock adaptors included while alarms can be set to wake to music from the iPod.
