New photo gifts service goes online

Gift and gadget etailer iwantoneofthose has announced the launch of new site -? iwantoneofthosephotogifts.com - or IWOOTPG.com as it will henceforth be referred to on this site, because life is too short and RSI all too close.

In a nutshell, iwootpg.com can photo-ify pretty much any objet you might care to stick a cute photo of your girlfriend/child/puppy/stick insect on.

There's classic photobooks from ?6.00, canvases from ?27, make-your-own calendars from ?5, a set of ten greetings cards from ?4 and a ton of other bits and bobs that you can plaster with your photos such as playing cards, mousemats, mugs, clothing, hats, bags, etc, etc.

IWOOT has launched a new ebook reader into the UK market with the online introduction of the Foxit eSlick.

The 180 gram device is slim and lightweight and offers a 6-inch, E-Ink, 600 x 800 pixel resolution display.

The eSlick gets a 512MB internal memory but comes bundled with a 2GB card for expansion and there's support for MP3 files so you can listen while you read with headphones included.

File support comes in with just PDF and TXT. The bundled software can convert most ebook formats into a PDF for viewing on the device.

The Foxit eSlick is available now in black or white from IWOOT for ?189.

Unbranded player includes TV reception

IWOOT has come up with a relatively budget portable media player that also includes television functionality. Although it's not branded, the player in the picture on IWOOT's site does say "August", though that's not a company we've heard of before.

The screen is 3.5-inches across, and it can recieve Freeview. It displays 320 x 240 pixels, and can play back from external media via a USB stick. There are two games included, it can be hooked up to the TV, and it'll play AVI's, MPEGs, MP3, WAV files and JPEGs.

There's also an SD/MMC card slot, for upto 8GB of storage - it doesn't seem to have any onboard storage provided. The rechargable battery will do you 10 hours of audio or 3 hours of video before it gives in. There's also an EPG and subtitle options.

The unit has built in speakers, or if you don't want to irritate people on the bus then you can use headphones. It costs ?95 and it's available now.
