Logitech Extreme Action Controller for PS2 review

9 December 2003 16:07 GMT / By Stuart Miles

Whoever said that a PS2 controller was just a controller doesn't know about the Extreme Action Controller from Logitech.

Taking it perhaps a tad too far, the latest controller features leather padding and gold-plated connectors. Other than that, this is your standard PS2 controller with four buttons, four shoulder buttons, two analogue sticks and a D-pad. The controller also features vibration feedback and a turbo on and off switch. Those with a large lounge will appreciate the rather long 2.9m cable making it possible to once again sit in comfort on the sofa.

Verdict

This controller is a tad excessive in its offering - who would really want leather grips and gold plating connectors - but for only £20 you can’t really grumble. Comfortable to hold, no one can complain that this model isn’t for the gamer who has everything.

Quick verdict
The long cable is the best feature, as you can play from the sofa. Otherwise a good gift more than something you’d play yourself.
