With over 19,186 different correct solutions you think that here at Pocket-lint towers we would manage to find one. Well 3 weeks of playing so far and the answer is still eluding us, and for that reason we can’t put it down. The Bedlam Cube is curiously simple. Based on what would best be described as Tetris, only 3D, the aim of the game is to put the selection of pieces back in the box to make a cube.
Hours later and you’ll still be at it. According to the company behind the puzzle even though they have sold thousands in the run up to Christmas only 97 people have so far sent in their solutions to earn themselves a congratulatory certificate.
The puzzle itself is very well made and there is a range of colour schemes to choose from, including a wooden version for those looking for something bit more ecologically friendly than the red, blue and yellow plastic pieces we received.
That said that design is very eye catching and anyone that came to the office felt they had to have a go - a good sign to any puzzle. All left cursing the cube saying that if they owned one they wouldn’t get any work done at all.
Verdict
The only advice we’ve so far received is that there are so many combinations in playing this puzzle that attempting it at random could take months - even years.
Luckily for those who get frustrated the company behind the cube will sell you a solution so you can at least get it back in the box.
But then you would only be cheating yourself - yeah right, now where’s the phone for that solution.
