• That's an interesting review, but as with most of your camera reviews, you are missing some crucial elements:
  
  1. 100% crops
  2. Low light images
  3. Some indication of the time from pushing the shutter button to taking the picture - that can be really important, especially with cameras like this targetted at the sporty environment!
  4. Image examples of the fault conditions described in the text, so we can judge how much of a problem they are; e.g. you say that there are problems with water staying on the lens; perhaps a shot taken with that water on would clearly show us how much of the shot gets obscured or distorted. Also you mention fringing in high-contrast scenes, but I can't see that on any of the images you posted.

• i have bought one of these cameras ,which was fine for a few days when went on holiday but the the front lens and internal viewing screen got condensation on it. which means i could no longer take or vierw pictures. this was the dissapointing part of my holiday to the carribean and upset to us going snorkling.
  i bought this brand new never used so not happy, but when in used a wonderful camera .

• Ben - thanks for your comments. Trying to keep things concise often leads to omitting some details and with cameras packing in so much, it isn't possible to cover everything. I take your point about shutter lag and will add that.
  
  The sample images don't cover the things you mention, we don't put up 100% crops/high-res originals or examples of faults. The samples are designed to show the camera working happily, rather than showing off things that are going wrong with it. If a camera is so bad that we can't get a good shot out of it, then the samples will be poor.
  
  I accept that some readers will always want more detail and may not find everything covered here, but for many readers they will be happy to know what the camera is like to live with and the results that are easily achievable. Posted by chrishall, United Kingdom
