Quick review

The good
Small, good looking, can hold more than one playlist
The bad
Only comes in two colours, fiddly to control on/off switch, robotic text to voice
Verdict
It’s hard not be to taken in by the proportions and design of the new shuffle - it’s like a highly covetable techno tie clip
Key specs
3.5mm jack, Li-ion battery, MP3 player

  • You did not mention that any headsets you plug to this player has to be certified by Apple. One of the most negative things about this player if you ask me. Posted by misund, UK
  • I think you'll find the iPod Touch is the one branded as the 'funnest' iPod ever.
This one sounds like it's no fun at all.

  • misund - you're right, at the time of publishing this review, we didn't know that the supplied Apple headphones contained a control chip and that third party suppliers will need to pay a fee to be part of the Made for iPod program. This news has filtered out over the course of the last 24 hours or so. Posted by chrishall, United Kingdom
  • gpat, you are right on this one. It seems that Apple's marketing was entirely wasted on us. I've made an update to the review, thanks. Posted by chrishall, United Kingdom
