  • Surely the downloadable games service is worth mentioning in here somewhere, especially as a reason to upgrade? The extra RAM and faster primary CPU suggest that downloaded titles could have better graphics than "universal" DS software, too. By the way, the two cameras are VGA, the 3-megapixel idea was a typo by a blog shortly after the system was announced (VGA is about 0.3 megapixel). Posted by sockatume, UK
  • Sockatume, you're right re the megapixel count it is .3 rather than 3 seems we missed off the "." I've changed the review accordingly Posted by stuartmiles, United Kingdom
  • As you mentioned it's a portable games console and I only see the 0.3 Megapixel camera (wow) and MP3 Player features to increase the bullet point descriptions in magazines/catalogues. Posted by NM, United Kingdom
  • so is this worth getting and should i keep my ds just in case? Posted by Chuk, America
  • I think the main deciding factor for me and possibly hundreds of others will be how durable will this twin camera, bigger screened device be? The original DS was a tank, big but sturdy. I could hold that thing out at arms length and let it drop without any fear, just to show people how good it was.
Then the DS lite came out. I figured same thing, but all I had to do was pick it up and I knew it wouldn't survive that. I even flinch if I drop it a foot.
If the DSi can bring back the same type of sturdiness as the DS original had, I'd would be instantly sold.

  • I cant wait to see what the new DSiware store brings, i can see alot of new features such as game addons and alot more 3rd party games coming to the Nintendo stable.

also with the cameras onboard that will add another great dimension to the games too.

  • in the earlier versions of the ds you could play gba games too that was the mainpoint watz the use of the sd besides storing images can u download ds&gba roms & play with it like the psp Posted by nogbaslot, India
  • someone please reply to me about the gba roms can be downloaded & played Posted by nogbaslot, india
  • The New DSi is something that has pro's and con's

Pro's being the camera, MP3, downloadable content, larger screens.

Con's the removal of the GBA slot.

I don't know if it's worth the upgrade but it's a personal choice I think.

  • I played on a DSi the other day and the bloke who owned it had an R4 chip in it.
It allowed him to download films and that and put it on an SD card. Frikken awesome.
