Quick review

The good
You don’t need a PC, battery and Wi-Fi means totally portable, fast startup
The bad
Price, doesn’t store multiple users, battery life is poor
Verdict
We loved the SV1 because you can just plug it in, turn it on, and start talking. But when all is said and done, the Asus Eee AiGuru SV1 is just too expensive
Key specs
3.5mm jack, Ethernet, Wi-Fi

  • I actually like this design, but honestly I think it can do more than this.
With Vidyo software with this device, it will turn into a high quality (VGA) video terminal which can connect to HD Vidyoconferencing Room system from Vidyo Inc.

  • I love this machine and my elderly parents could never use a computer but can use this. That on its own justifies the price.

BUT be aware of this: the wifi does not work properly. About once every week or two weeks the wi-fi looses connection. Its then forgotten the wi-fi key. Bear in mind that it has no keyboard, so even if the user knows what a wi-fi key is, its very hard for them to enter. And you have to do it again and again. Azus are aware of this but refuse to fix. So do not expect to use wi-fi, except on an occasional basis.
