  • i hope the unit has a wisdom subroutine programmed in amongst all that data crunching. i'm sure that there'll be no more headlines about lorries reversing down stanstead runway, not. for £96 a year (at current rates) i will receive the two privileges of arriving at every meeting on time and some faceless body knowing where i am and where i've been. i'd rather just get up an hour earlier. i sincerely don't want to win this, give it to someone who is too busy to read a map and remember that the sun rises in the east. • This looks like a great unit. I would like to know more about it's use from a consumer like myself! Posted by Chris Poulsen, USA
  • What are the additional costs? I don't know exactly what I'd be spending more for and I definitely don't want to if I can avoid it. I have a Tom Tom Go 700 now which is fine for what it does, but an upgrade couldn't hurt... But a one time fee is what I'm truly interested in. I can't sustain more bills. Posted by Rizwan Khan, USA
  • @alan: ANYONE driving a car is too busy to read a map. Plus, on many occasions, even though the sun has risen in the east, inhabitants of the UK don't get to see where it is, due to weather conditions.
@rizwan: I don't think the LIVE services (which is what is covered by the "additional costs" exist in the USA. I also don't think the USA has TMC (which is the radio frequency-driven traffic information system). So, all this traffic wizardry is only for us Europeans...
