Quick review

The good
Trackpad, design, performance
The bad
Sockets too close together for USB dongle users, expensive
Verdict
If you've got the cash and are in the market for a top of the range notebook this will do you nicely. It's just a shame it has to be so expensive

  • A proud owner of the ne MacBook Pro, I have to say, it is a glorious machine. Apple have once again, set a design benchmark.

The only gripe as mentioned is the USB ports being so close together. When a 3G dongle is inserted, nothing else will fit on the spare port. Perhap's there's a mini usb extender for these dongles.

Other than that, a superb machine.

  • I too am an extremely satisfied MBP owner. Given my first Mac was a mini, and that was fantastic too but pales in comparison to the power and beauty of the MBP (although I feel Leopard may have a lot to do with the non-asthetic appeal).

I haven't really owned it long enough but my only gripe so far is the heat it produces when crunching video or runing games! still, as the Mac-fora are full of gripes about heat issues, i am sure i can come up with a solution. An upgrade to some of the fan control programmes to suit the new MBP would be nice!
