  • your review is very off here, the unit uses Dual NVIDIA GeForce 9800M GTS graphics with NVIDIA SLI Technology and the screen resolution is 1680x1050.
    the processor is a Core2 Duo 2.26GHz or Core 2 Extreme 2.53GHz
the unit comes in 2 versions:
    Qosmio X305-Q706
    Qosmio X305-Q708
with the only real difference being the processor, extra solid state HDD and a $2000 price difference

  • Thanks for your comment Cody. The details for this particular variant of the X300 are correct - it may be the case that this exact model is not available in the US, but here is the European listing: http://uk.computers.toshiba-europe.com/innovation/product/Qosmio-X300-11S/1056666/#0 Posted by chrishall, United Kingdom
  • hello.. actually im living in Dubai & i bought a laptop(qosmio x300-13o) one month ago, from the first day im facing with a problem, the problem is sometimes when im trying to switch on my device the power light is on & the hard drive light is on but the system will not loading and i can't even switch it off,in this time i can eject the DVD driver and when i touch the hotkeys on top of the keyoard those lights are working but there is no action at all... i want to know my laptop which is brand new when i bought it has a software problem or hardware.. actually i dont have good feelling about toshiba laptops because of this problem.when i bought this laptop i though its a highest laptop but i got a bad problem & i dont know what can i do...i need ur help... thank you Posted by mohammad, UAE-Dubai
  • Dear Mo, I am sorry to hear your problem. I think it is a soft-ware problem and possibly caused by a nasty virus.
Please try starting it with Product recovery mode. Hold down the F8 key as you turn it on and you can then get it to totaly wipe the Hard drive and set it to how it was when it left the factory. Result = brand new laptop.
And DONT put lime wire or other file-sharing rubbish on it as these are usualy the carrier of bad viruses, if you didnt know already.
Why havent you taken it back to the supplier if this problem happened on the first day?
I got a 300S and am pleased as punch with it. Beautiful screen, fabulous sound and very good gaming performance. OK it creaks a bit when you move it around but it has run faultlessly since the day I bought it. I only paid £869 from PCWORLD as it was a refurbished model which I suppose means that the previous owner had a problem with it. Obviously the technicians at PCWorld solved the problem it had.
One other very important pont. When brand new any Vista laptop needs to run for at least half an hour plugged in to allow Vista to start for the first time.
Many people dont realise this and think it will work straight out of the box. IT WONT!. You MUST let it do its thing for that critical first hour. It tells you so in the instructions but if you are too impatient or cant read people mess up their new laptop before they get to use it.
    So check out these suggesstions.
Good luck and happy gaming when you get it sorted.
    SIMON.
