Quick review

The good
Easy to use, memory card slots, designed around a "reading" experience, plenty of controls, support for varied file formats
The bad
Menus can be slow to navigate, surface a little too cluttered, online e-book purchase a little underwhelming, no mains powerpack
Verdict
Competitively priced and supported by a major bookstore, it remains to be seen how readily available other booksellers make their digital editions. Could this be the coming of age for the e-book?

  • Very easy to read but not easy to navigate long books unless there are chapter links. There is a vast amount of free material - classics etc - which can be downloaded from websites, easily formatted to add headings and then they are yours for free and can be carried around with you easily. No doubt if 5 years time this will look very basic and dated but for now it is a great product if you read mainly classics and have got a mean streak. Posted by Peter Bestley, UK
  • It's worth mentioning that the PSU adapter is exactly the same as for a Sony PSP.

The 'Genuine' PRS505 adapter costs £25 from Argos, but they sell a PSP/DS/DS lite charger for less than a tenner.
