• I need to record subtitles as I'm v. deaf. At the moment I have an old Sanyo VCR and I have to make sure that the 'subbies' are onscreen if I want to record them. My TV is set to show subtitles all the time. Will this recorder automatically record them? It's interesting that not one single review of these products includes any info about the subtitling feature! Given that 1 in 7 of the population suffers some kind of hearing loss it might be something to include in reviews. Posted by Sue Bright, UK
• Hi Sue - thanks for raising an interesting point. We contacted Humax to ask about subtitle recording and here is their response:
  
  "The Humax PVR-9150T, PVR-9300T and FOXSAT-HDR all record the broadcast stream, so the subtitles will be automatically recorded. The user can switch them on or off as they please on live TV or when playing back a recorded programme (if subtitles are broadcast with the programme).
  
  The units above also have an option to have the subtitles automatically appear all of the time (if broadcast) so the user does not need to switch them on every time they change channels."

• Humax Customer Services must be the worlds worst. I have telephoned, waiting over 30 minutes and still no reply. I have done this three times now. I have actually emailed them 13 times over a 3 week period and not one acknowledgement or response, What else can I do to get help on my sick HUMAX PVR-9300T which is only 12 months old ????
