  • I bought this laptop. It works great. Buying 1GB or 2GB RAM will be a good choice to work more faster. However for moderate ser, itis also not necessary. Posted by Khatri, Finland

I just bought this too and its a great notebook for the price at £318. My came with 2GHz Core 2 Duo (T5870), 2GB 6400 DDR2 RAM (1GB was added as it came free anyway), 120GB 5400rpm SATA HDD, and DVD Supermulti that plays anything bar blu-ray + HDDVD which I didn't need anyway.

As this also came with Vista Home, I found it quite speedy once you tweak Vista, turn off Indexing, UAC, Printer (via Services.msc), Aero + transition effects you noticed an immediate improvement on reboot.

I was thinking of installing XP Pro but the Toshiba tools needs Vista (I read the smallprint) and didn't want any issues so left Vista Prem. on. The notebook does get a bit hot once the HDD gets running but is otherwise very quite. The key are big enough for big fingers and the screen is ideal for most jobs and watching movies - the screen is a very good quality 1280x800.

Overall I'm very happy with this purchase and look forward to using this for years to come.
