Quick review
- The good
- Easy to use, good screen, design and build, anti-shake, image quality, detail
- The bad
- Noise is obvious at higher ISOs, price
- Verdict
- The Optio A40 sits at the pinnacle of Pentax’s compact range and offers a set of features that would not embarrass a budget digital SLR. A CCD-shift anti-shake system graces a 12-megapixel sensor and Face AF, and by golly, it all seems to work too
