Quick review

The good
Screen quality, build, and simple to use
The bad
Price, screens not widescreen, menus are a little convoluted for some tasks
Verdict
The TIPA award winning Epson P5000 multimedia viewer is an excellent portable still image, audio or movie player/storage device that’ll fit snugly into a camera bag or larger pocket and provide you with much needed external storage or image review capabilities when out and about

  • I'd say that review is correct except for the "tough build quality". If you drop it you are likely to destroy the laptop sized hard drive inside. However, if you have a friend with a P-5000 you can copy the system files onto a bigger replacement drive and get going again. Olympus RAW is now supported but the UK web site is broken at the moment and you can't download the firmware. Luckily the USA site works better. Posted by PeterK, UK
