  • Hi..

It is likely that these products, and similar ones from other makers could be technicaly illegal to use in Europe and the UK, due to the use of "inapropriate" technology and the way they work. Specificaly, the use of unshielded power cables to carry broad band data, that were never designed to be used as such.

The certification method used to get them to market in the EU, is questionable to say the very least.

Conveniant though these devices may be for the user, they spew out Radio Frequency interference over a wide area, using your home power cables as antenna's. Unintended it may be, but they do do it, efecively wiping out Short Wave reception of all but the very strongest stations, even then there is audible interference.

Also, as a result of the un-shielded nature of home power cables, they can be "nuked" and your network taken down by nearby Short Wave transmissions. Military, Utility, Aviation, Ham, CB etc.
