Quick review

The good
Ease of use, consumables price, photo quality prints, versatile
The bad
Big and heavy, no proper Wi-Fi, print speeds slower than claimed
Verdict
Kodak’s EasyShare 5500 builds on the similar “home” oriented EasyShare 5300 sharing much of the former model’s technology including the low price printing

  • have you actually used this printer???
The reviewer could almost be sued for some form of fasle statements regarding a consumer product.

this printer does not do as the manufacturer claims. It uses ink far faster than any other printer i have owned. The scanner barely works, the document feeder only works with precise settings for copying.

it is a nightmare in trying to get any type of tech support.

I will never buy kodak anything again. I tell anyone who is willing to listen about how crap this printer and hence all kodak products are.

  • My husband bought this printer in Nov 1997, and my daughter and I set it up, and it printed the calibration sheet, stopped and said fatal error. We were told it was the print head at fault and eventually received another printhead. My husband died in Feb 2008, before we managed to get things running. I've been unable to remove and replace printhead, so still not running. Off to check with instructions and Kodak service. (PS - bought Canon MP540 in meantime and up and running in 30 minutes.) • I've had one of these since 2006 and it's been fantastic - for paper, photo and tshirt transfer printing, scanning, photocopying. I love the cheap ink as well. After 18 months the print head went and, having spoken to Kodak on the phone I received - free of charge - a new printhead and both black and colour ink cartridges within 2 days.
I am extremely pleased with my kodak printer
