Asus MyPal A696 GPS receiver review

• For me I like using my Razer as a phone and I have found the My Pal 696 to work seamlessly with it's bluetooth and wifi to access the web directly or through the Razer depending on where I am. When it has worked the GPS has been great but I have had to return it twice because of a faulty GPS receiver. All else has worked quite well. I find the stulus data entry on this unit to be far superior to typing on mini keyes. Posted by frederick, USA

  Using IGO 8 with it, works like a charm, fast and responsive, no issues with signal u mentioned. also it came with Windows mobile 2006 (as - not 5).
  Also you didn't mention it uses SirfStar III which is superior GPS chip in terms of speed and power efficiency.
  
  You didn't mention Wi-Fi and Bluetooth functions:
  1. Using Wi-fi I managed to make pretty neat Skype calls.
  2. Can function as a presenter for pc.
  3. Using Bluetooth I configured the A696 as handsfree device (hidden function).
  4. You won't find any GPS/handheld that could do all that at that price range.
  
  While using it as a GPS, driving a car it works well, but as a "passenger" the GPS found me at wrong locations (perhaps software or region problem but needed to mention).
  
  Also, If u from Israel, after installing the Hebrew software, disable the interface and handling (will leave the keyboard in heb). the software is very bugged. Posted by Dimka, Israel
