Quick review

The good
Toby Jones’ stunning portrayal of Capote, Douglas McGrath’s witty script capably demonstrates Capote’s charisma and charm, Daniel Craig puts in another menacing turn as Perry Smith
The bad
Warner Bros’ reluctance to release Infamous at the same time as Capote meant it was always destined to fail, why no mention of Capote’s burgeoning pill and alcohol addiction? Infamous is neither as subtle nor sombre as Bennett Miller’s earlier movie
Verdict
A beautifully acted biopic that can be enjoyed even if last year’s movie sits fresh in the mind
