Quick review

The good
Light, great screen
The bad
Lacks power. Pricey
Verdict
Super light and good looking, it sits between the S and TX series, and feels like something of a gloriously compromised solution

  • I bought this laptop in May 2007 for its ultra-light weight and long battery life. The top of two models came with a very nice leather case - which probably doubles the weight! Nevertheless, the case has drawn envious glances and enquiries on the train and you can walk across town to a meeting without a laptop bag. You can get 9 hours if you set up the battery to do so, but will lose performance and much of the 9 hours is just sitting there on your desk not actually being used(quite normal for most people). I had a lot of problems setting up my 3G card and spent hours on the phone to Vodafone and paying an IT expert; it appears there was conflict with the blue tooth drivers. The new generation of USB 3G pods seem to sort out conflicts on their own though. Apart from teething problems with Vista, I have been very pleased and it fits so easily into my briefcase.
