EyeTV for DTT digital TV review

The promise of a pocket-sized Digital TV for the Mac is quite an appealing one. But can nice things always come in small packages? We plug in and find out.

The good: Small, easy to install and use, takes power from the computer so no need to find yet another spare socket
The bad: The aerial in the box isn’t good enough. Only TV viewing software in the box, black remote control won’t look good against any Apple Mac we’ve ever seen
Verdict: If you want TV on your Mac this is a good option that comes with a few niggles, but nothing to worry about too much

I just bought one of these (EyeTV DTT, December 2008) and I not pleased. Software looks great and truly integrated into Mac OSX. The problem is the VERY low sensitivity even when connected to the roof's aerial antenna it fails to pick up channels that the TV set gets. Even for channels that this little device is able to tune do not show well on the screen because of a very limited error correction.
As I said, not satisfying at all. Money wasted.
