Reports are coming in from Taiwan that would appear to further suggest a 3G version of Apple's iPhone.

Taiwan's Chunghwa Telecom is said to be in talks to sell the Apple iPhone - nothing major there - but will only go ahead if Apple offers a 3G version of the device.

Sources at the company told the DigiTimes that the mobile phone operator "expects to sign an agreement with Apple in the first half of 2008" which obviously suggests that Apple has definite plans for a 3G version of the handset.

A big carrier in Taiwan, the Chunghwa Telecom expects to buy 2.5 million handsets in 2007, and is reportedly also in talks with Sony Ericsson for customised handsets for their service.
