Nokia has released a new application for its N95 mobile phone that allows you to download maps of entire countries to then load on to the phones memory to save you having to access the data over a Wi-Fi or 3G connection when you are out and about.

The move is likely to appeal to the thousands of users of the new phone, who perhaps didn't realise that they would need a Wi-Fi or 3G connection to get the mapping data to use the GPS receiver on-board.

Called MapLoader, the free tool is available for download from Nokia's website, however you will need a PC to install it.
