There are further updates on the horizon for the Apple iPod, some have been speculations, others the company has willingly confirmed. Wireless connections for the iPod though is a new rumour circulating the web.

If you’re prepared to believe the whispers, then you could be getting your hands on a Wi-Fi wireless connected iPod by the end of the year. This week we have announced a number of wireless developments in MP3 players, including Zune's new technology and SanDisk's connected player.

The obvious advantage to the Wi-Fi connection of the Apple iPod is iTunes, users will be able to access music and video directly from the online store and the USB lead can finally be done away with.

We are still waiting on the full features on the iPhone, Apple could surprise us with more specs for their highly anticipated mobile phone.

We will keep you posted of the official announcements.
