German company Maxfield has unveiled the MAX TRACK, which the company claims is the fastest satnav on the market.

It's powered by a 400MHz processor made by Samsung, runs on Windows CE 5.0, and incorporates MAX-Navigator 5 software.

The device has an integrated GPS antenna, and comes with most of the map database of Western Europe pre-loaded on a 1GB SD card. It supports cross-border navigation rerouting on the fly.

A 3.5-inch colour touchscreen makes it easy to enter addresses and destinations, and the software allows you to block specific streets or to indicate a preferred route. Instructions can be listened to on stereo speakers or through headphones.

Other functions include a speedometer that works with the speed camera database, and a choice of 2D or 3D maps.

Look out for this latest satnav to hit the shelves in November.
