Dell has confirmed the launch of a new luxury laptop brand called Adamo at CES in Las Vegas.

The company has said that the new laptop will be available in the first half of 2009 - but not a lot else.

"When you think about precision design you would expect precision tech specs", said a Dell spokesperson.

But specs were not forthcoming. It's aluminium, and that's all the details Dell are giving at this early stage.

However looking closely at our images the laptop will sport three USB sockets, an Ethernet and a display port.

"It's a no compromise laptop" said Dell before repeatedly saying the words "design, craftmanship and luxury" like a new mantra.

Meaning "love" in Latin, Adamo will be available in the first half of 2009 according to Dell.

Looking at the device close up it looks to be very thin, features a glossy glass screen and is black - very black.

Stay tuned.

  • Why a new model? Why not just update the mini 9 and mini 12? Having 3 very similar models is going to complicate the buying decision for everyone. Posted by fishzle, Australia
