CES 2009: 10-incher to go on sale at $500

6 January 2009 11:45 GMT / By Amy-Mae Elliott

HP has unveiled a new HP Mini that it says is "designed for mobile professionals that require a rich computing experience in a small, portable package".

The Atom-powered HP Mini 2140 features a 10.1-inch display, a 92% of full size keyboard, offers an all-aluminium case and a starting weight of 2.6 pounds.

The display can be bumped up to high definition, although with such a small display it might not be worth it, and the notebook is available with a range of hard-drive options including an optional 80GB solid-state drive.

With integrated Wi-Fi and VGA camera, optional add-ons include Bluetooth 2.0, a USB docking station, USB-powered HP Mobile Audio Speakers and HP USB optical disk drive.

The HP Mini 2140 starts at $499 and is expected to be available in the States later this month.
