It seems Apple has mistakenly revealed the timescale for the launch of its next operating system.

Apple's director of engineering of Unix Technologies, Jordan Hubbard, showed the expected date for Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard in a slide at the Large Installation System Administration Conference.

Snow Leopard is apparently scheduled for release during the first quarter of 2009.

When Apple first previewed Snow Leopard at the Worldwide Developers Conference 2008, it was stated only that Snow Leopard would ship "in about a year" from the announcement.

  • Q1 2009 passed and no Snow Leopard. Maybe Apple's fiscal Q1? When is that?
    Until then... Windows still rules my world - waiting for MS Exchange in Snow Leopard :). Maybe Apple finally considered that people tend to travel between time zones and fixed their Mail app.     Posted by Catalin, Romania
