Apple has launched a new gift initiative in time for Christmas that could see UK-based residents sending Apple products to friends and family throughout Europe.

The launch of the new Apple online store "crossborder" gifting service means customers in European countries can send gifts throughout Europe, with door to door delivery in 15 countries.

Apple says the deliveries will be via courier and returns and refunds are covered by the return policy of the Apple online store where the recipient is based, in case of a need for return.

The countries offering the service are Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the United Kingdom.

  • But still they protect the local Jersey (over-priced) shop by not allowing sales to/from the Channel Islands. But this is to be expected, considering their iPhone apps , a pathetic monopoly driving customers to other brands. Posted by Adrian, UK
