Denon has launched a "special edition" of its Smart 102 home entertainment system.

The Denon Smart 102 claims to deliver "top-notch" CD and DVD playback, and boasts upscaling to 1080p Full HD complete with HDMI compatibility.

This special edition package adds to the existing main unit, two speakers and subwoofer with Denon's latest, iPod dock and a pair of the maker's ASFS-05 desktop speaker stands.

The Denon ASD-11R iPod dock charges a stationed iPod, while also offering control of iPod menus from the Smart 102’s remote control. The Denon dock also relays information, such as track and artist details, from the iPod to the main system's facia.

The Denon Smart 102 Special Edition has a suggested retail price of £700 - £100 less than its launch price. It comes in charcoal grey and it will hit the stores in November 2008.
