Pure has launched the EVOKE-2S, its new flagship stereo digital radio with both DAB and FM reception and "Clearsound" a completely new and enhanced audio subsystem.

Said to be a "dramatic evolution" from its predecessor, the EVOKE-2XT, the company says there are "significant electronic, audio, cosmetic and functional improvements."

The EVOKE-2S gets improved mid-range speakers and separate tweeters and driving them with in-house "Clearsound" technology.

Clearsound is a new digital end-to-end audio subsystem which uses an integrated high-performance switch-mode power supply, Class D amplifiers, digital audio shaping technology and custom-tuned speakers that claims to provide clear dynamic audio with immense 30W RMS power, while maintaining low power consumption.

There's also the ReVu feature to pause and rewind live DAB radio, Intellitext and textSCAN, improved alarms and sleep timer functions, more presets and the latest ChargePAK technology.

The radio's OLED display is crystal-clear from any angle and has both manual and automatic brightness controls. There’s also an input for an iPod/ MP3 player, a kitchen countdown timer, USB upgradability and EVOKE's real maple veneer casework.

Part of Pure's EcoPlus range, the EVOKE-2S is the company's first radio to include a dedicated power off switch on the rear for those customers who would prefer zero power consumption as opposed to standby.

EVOKE-2S will be available in November from high street and online retailers for an SRP of £169.99.
