Facebook could launch a music offering to match rival social networking site's MySpace recent launch, the New York Post reports.

The founder and chief executive of Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg, is said to be "eyeing a move" into the digital music market following the MySpace Music launch that's powered by Amazon.

Facebook is said to be in negotiations with a number of song-streaming services and music community sites, including Rhapsody.com, iMeem.com, iLike.com and Lala.com over the potential of an outsourcing deal.

Not the first time such a rumour has emerged, it's said this time, Zuckerberg and senior Facebook execs have met with major record labels "to discuss future strategy".
