The 2009 versions of Trend Micro Internet Security and Trend Micro Internet Security Pro are now available.

The software is designed to keep your computer, and data, safe whilst you surf the web.

The new versions are claimed to offer significantly lighter memory load, faster installation, and more effective protection.

"Customers will experience up to over 40% lower memory usage and nearly 50% faster boot-up time", explains Carol Carpenter, vice president of global marketing for Trend Micro's consumer business unit.

Improved features include an enhanced Home Network Security Management function, which allows users to see and remotely manage other computers in their home network.

There's also a new tool called Worry-Free Click provides an extra layer of protection by scanning for suspicious links from email, websites, or instant messages.

Trend Micro has also improved the software's parental controls, including the ability to control the date and time each child can go on the Internet.

Parents also have the option to specify categories of information (such as home addresses, telephone numbers, passwords, etc.) they do not wish to be sent from a computer.

Both Trend Micro Internet Security and Trend Micro Internet Security Pro are available now and the subscription prices for 1 year are £49.95 and £54.95.
