Revealed on a UK online retailer's site, it seems Asus has evolved its Eee "Monitor" into the touchscreen-enabled Eee "Top".

Described as a desktop version of the Asus Eee PC, the Top comes pre-loaded with Windows XP, is powered by a 1.6GHz Intel Atom processor and gets 1GB of RAM.

The all-in-one PC, that looks to be a budget rival both HP's TouchSmart PCs and the Apple iMac, offers a 160GB internal hard drive.

The screen is a 15.6-inch single touch panel with a built-in webcam, microphone and speakers.

Other specs of note include 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi, Gigabit LAN, memory card slot and six USB ports.

Available in black and white, and inclusive of a wired keyboard and mouse, the Asus Eee Top is on pre-order now for £399.99 - although availability is to be confirmed.
