Hands up all of you who have managed to hammer your fingers instead of the nail they are unsteadily holding in place?

Bostitch reckons it has a solution in its Palm Nailer, which is a devise you hold in your palm, hover over a nail, and "bang, bang, bang", it's in.

It uses a compressed air drive and is claimed to be able to get most nails in in under a second - saving you time that could be much better spent in the pub.

It is $83 and is available from Amazon.

Hit the play button above to see it in action.
