Facebook co-founder Dustin Moskovitz is leaving the social utility along with colleague Justin Rosenstein to start their own company.

Dustin Moskovitz was one of the original Facebook team, launching the site with Mark Zuckerberg as Harvard students, while Justin Rosenstein is an engineering exec originally from Google.

The new company will "build tools to facilitate collaboration within the enterprise", said the pair.

"We see this new venture as very complimentary to Facebook. We hope our products will become to your work life what Facebook.com is to your social life", Rosenstein said of the new project's aims.

"Dustin has always had Facebook's best interest at heart and will always be someone I turn to for advice", a statement from Zuckerberg said.
