T-Mobile is hoping to power your home network with the launch of a new wireless networking device powered by your mobile broadband dongle.

Called the Mobile Broadband Share Dock the device, which will come bundled with a standard T-Mobile mobile broadband dongle, will allow you to set-up a wireless network anywhere you can find a power socket to share with colleagues or friends.

The dock is recommended for three users at a time and will give you full networking functions like sharing folders once you've gone through a quick setup wizard.

Unlike the dongle, you will need a power point to run the device and the bad news for non T-Mobile users is that it will be SIM locked for T-Mobile customers only.

Launching in the next couple of days, the Mobile Broadband Share Dock will cost £20 a month on an 18-month contract, however you will get the dongle in that price.

A T-Mobile spokesperson told Pocket-lint that current T-Mobile mobile broadband customers will be able to get it at varying prices (you need to phone the T-Mobile loyalty helpline) depending on their current contract.

  • Old news. In stock already at T-Mobile, and has been for about a month. You can get it now on upgrade; I believe the RRP is £99.99. Posted by OK!, UK
  • I'm finding a similar gadget for my mobile broadband.
I'm in the Philippines using Globe Visibility.

  • Not much of a networking device if it only supports 3 users at a time. Posted by MataHari, South Africa
  • Recomended for 3 users at a time, not limited to 3 users.
This is due to bandwidth concerns, the average connection speed at present is only around 1mbs - try sharing that with more than 3 users. lzr

  • can you connect xbox 360 to this

  • It doesn't have an ethernet port whereas the Three D100 does. I am going to get that and ditch my home broadband and BT line.

I am currently with T-Mobile, if this supported ethernet I would have happily stayed with them.

  • 1) says UPTO 5 users on tmobiles advert - implying LIMITED TO
    2) 5 users is easily support if they are only surfing - probably more
    3) Tmobile wont charge extra if you go over the 3gb limit, wherase THREE will sting you for 10p per MB. That's £100 for just 1Gb more. What and effing RIPOFF!

  • Does anyone know where I can get one. I went into my local store and they said they couldn't just sell me one. With a PS3 and a wifi PC this would make my life alot simpler as I know the PS3 can't connect to an ad-hoc network and seeing as I'm on T Mobile this would eliminate the need for me to have to share my internet connection, through my PC, through a wireless router, and to my console.
