LG7000 Scarlet gets official

IFA launch for rumoured LCD

As was rumoured, LG Electronics has announced the European launch of its Full HD 1080p LCD TV series, the Scarlet LG7000 at IFA.

"The new Scarlet LG7000 is truly sophisticated in terms of technology and design to provide viewers with richer entertainment experiences", said Simon Kang, head of LG Digital Display Company.

Built around a Full HD 1080p LCD panel, the TV has an "Intelligent Sensor" for optimal viewing settings as well as advanced settings for users to calibrate the telly to their preference.

In a strangely worded press release LG states: "Sophisticated fashion is not trendy; rather, a woman might wear a simple black dress with a colorful scarf or a pretty set of accessories. Similarly, the Scarlet LG7000 does not shout to get attention. Instead, it has design elements that ensure it looks perfect in any décor".

Clearly style is key for LG and the TV has red "accents", soft channel and volume buttons and a glossy black sheen finish.

Other specs include TruMotion 100Hz (120Hz in North America) technology, 24p Real Cinema tech, a response time of 2.7 milliseconds, USB connection, four HDMI ports and 50,000:1 Dynamic Contrast Ratio and speakers tuned by Mark Levinson.
