Konami Pro Evo to benefit from new d-pad

Microsoft will launch a new Xbox controller with an improved d-pad in the UK and Europe later this year.

The new pad, which reports claim will launch on 24 October, will be optimised for Konami's Pro Evolution Soccer game rather than be an update for everyone.

"The new limited-edition green wireless controller offers enhancements to d-Pad functionality, which will add to the experience of playing games where the d-Pad is the primary control mechanism", Microsoft told gaming website Eurogamer on Wednesday.

The good news for the UK is that we will be getting the bright green controller, albeit in limited numbers, alongside Asia and Latin America.

No word however on when our US compatriots will be feeling the d-pad love.
