A new mini projector that fits in your shirt pocket has been launched giving those who do presentations on the hop hope that they can banish carrying around big projectors.

Called the Pico Projector PEP01, the devices makers, Fuchitek Corporation, say the new projector measures just 11.5 x 5 x 2.2cm slightly bigger than a mobile phone.

The mini projector will include VGA and Video out sockets to allow user to connect not only a laptop but also an MP3 player and project a VGA resolution 640 x 480 image up to 40 inches.

To make it portable, the unit is powered by a Li-ion battery, which, say Fuchitek, is compatible with some digital cameras.

No word on pricing or availability as yet, however with Texas Instruments about to show off yet another version of its Pico projector at IFA, in Germany and 3M also pushing hard to get its mini projector to market, we would expect devices like this to become commercially available as early as next year.
