New models starting from £129.99

Olympus has launched two new digital cameras in its FE series on Tuesday.

The new models, the Olympus FE-360 and FE-370 promise a 3x and 5x optical zoom and 8-megapixel sensor.

Like the newly announced mju 1060 model, the new FE series cameras will also support the microSD card format suggesting Olympus might be looking beyond the xD-Picture Card format moving forward.

Both cameras will sport the usual array of Face Detection Technology, Digital Image Stabilisation and an ISO setting up to 1000.

The FE-360 will come with a 2.5-inch LCD screen and in silver, black, blue, and pink.

The FE-370 will come with Olympus' new Intelligent Auto Mode that, the company say, makes it easy to take "great images" as the camera can automatically detect a range of common shooting scenes and then adjust settings accordingly.

The camera is also able to recognise up to 16 distinct faces and select the ideal shooting parameters – and matched with the Smile Shot function, it will automatically take the picture when it detects your subject’s smile. It will sport a 2.7-inch LCD screen.

The new Olympus FE cameras will be available in September for £129.99 for the FE-360, and £179.99 for the FE-370. Each model is also available in a choice of colours.
