We've given you the details of the 2530p laptop but here's the tablet version for people for whom portability is key.

The EliteBook 2730p tablet packs in everything it's 2530p offers including Intel Core 2 Duo ULV, SSD 80GB option, as well as business tools including a business card reader and security options including Drive Guard.

But you can also choose between a standard LED-backlit screen or Outdoor View and a jog dial because it's a tablet.

And the key factor - it's tough, meeting the MIL-STD 810F spec for dust, altitude and high temperature.

It comes with Genuine Windows Vista Business or Genuine Windows Vista Business with downgrade to Windows XP Tablet Edition custom installed.

Wireless support wise - there is an optional HP un2400 EV-DO/HSPA Mobile Broadband Module (which requires mobile network operator service); Intel 802.11a/b/g/draft-n, Broadcom 802.11 a/b/g/draft-n; and the Bluetooth 2.0, HP Wireless Assistant.

And you also get a Secure Digital memory card slot as well as two USB 2.0 ports, VGA, stereo microphone in, and stereo headphone/line out.

UPDATE: The HP EliteBook 2730p is expected to be available by early September for around $1670.

There's no news from HP in the UK as yet.
