Sony adds DSC-T77 and DSC-T700 to Cyber-shot range

Includes thinnest model to date

Sony has introduced two new stylish cameras to its Cyber-shot range, in the form of the DCS-T700 and DCS-T77.

The DSC-T77 is Sony's thinnest model to date, at less than 5/8 of an inch thick. The 10 megapixel camera features a 3-inch touchscreen LCD screen, ISO up to 3,200, eleven scene modes, face detection tecnologies and in-camera image management.

The T700 though, earns extra points as it does everything the T77 does but throws in a slightly larger screen at 3.5 inches and 4GB of internal memory to boot. That's nearly 1,000 full-resolution or 40,000 VGA-quality photos, which certainly ensures it lives up to the "photo album in your pocket" reputation Sony labels it with.

Photos can be searched for in-camera by event, date, smile or face, displayed in calendar or chronological views, organised in
folders; and shared as slide shows or scrapbooks. The Picture Motion Browser software allows you to get more pictures onto your memory by letting you downsize the image to VGA and export it back into the photo album.

Both new cameras feature a newly-developed Carl Zeiss lens that integrates a 4x optical zoom, and also feature image stabilisation, scene recognition technology and an anti-blink function that warns you when someone has closed their eyes.

The two cameras will be available from September with pricing to be announced. The DCS-T77 will be available in brown, green, pink, black and silver, while the DSC-T700 will come in a choice of red, champagne gold, pink, dark grey or silver colours.

  • I LOVE everything LG - love the saying and the feeling it exudes. I had a new phone one time and my friend (who brags about having the best of everything) asked me what kind it was - I said LG - she said, Oh, that must just be like an average phone - I showed it to her and guess what, she bought one!! Then I began seeing the name around more and more. Keep up the good work and thanks for being on top of "innovative". Posted by Vicky Bryant, USA
