The Bike Friday Tikit - the world's fastest folding bike - is now available from Cyclesense.

The claim is that its intuitive fold can be accomplished in just 5 seconds flat and is not slowed down by fiddly catches that need to be clicked into place.

This speed action is ably demonstrated in the video above.

When folded the bike locks together so it can be picked up with the carry handle (it weighs 25lbs) or rolled whilst holding the soft grip handle.

The Tikit folds compactly into 36 x 58 x 84cm, a small space that will hopefully justify the £925 and up price tag.

Comments

  • Being about the fastest fold in the world doesn't justify the price tag. Here's what does: the Tikit (unlike the Brompton) is nearly all standard parts and designed to be heavily customizable. It comes in three sizes and from a company which is famous for making "real" folding bikes that properly fit you, rather than the one-size-fits-no-one-very-well-and-certainly-no-one-above-average-height style of Bromptons or Dahons. The tikit isn't nearly as squirrelly as most folding bikes and has an impressive ride. And the bike comes from the Apple of the folding bike world, in terms of customer satisfaction and astonishingly good service. Bike Friday has a rabid following among premium folding bike buyers for a very good reason. Posted by Foo, USA
