Samsung has revealed the successor to the 81 Series LED LCD HDTVs, with the launch of the new Series 9 LED LCD HDTV.
The 2008 flagship Series 9 is Samsung's second-gen LCD HDTVs to use LED SmartLighting technology, and combines said LED tech with 120Hz technologies, giving a 1,000,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio.
The Series 9 also gets Samsung's new "art-inspired Touch of Color" design with a charcoal grey bezel.
The Series 9 LED LCD also features Samsung's InfoLink RSS service, which in the States gives a hook-up to USA Today content.
WiseLink Pro allows for playing MP3 music, JPEG photos, and video files stored on memory drives and other digital devices, or PCs thanks to a bit of DLNA tech thrown into the mix too.
There's also a USB 2.0 port, four HDMI-CEC inputs, and an energy-saving mode. The Series 9 LED LCD HDTVs will be available in the States in August in 46-inch and 55-inch sizes.
Pricing of this product is still to be confirmed but will be available in the UK from September 2008.
