Sony has launched its first 8GB Memory Stick Micro (M2) card, doubling the current 4GB maximum capacity.

Sony says that sticking the new M2 card in a Sony Ericsson mobile will give customers a choice of over 5000 fine quality 5-megapixel photos, over 2000 MP3 songs, or over 88 hours of high quality MPEG4 video.

Customers who buy either a 2, 4 or 8GB card will be entitled to a free WAP download of the full version of Gameloft's Brain Challenge 2 over the summer as part of a special promotion.

In addition, Sony has introduced the new, "ultra-compact" M2 USB adaptor included with 2GB, 4GB and 8GB Memory Stick Micro cards that claims to give you PC transfer abilities in a "tiny, easy-to-use" format.
