Linksys has launched a new wireless-G broadband router aimed at consumers, the WRT54G2, the successor to the Cisco WRT54G.

Featuring a new "sleek" design that the comapny hopes will mean folk will want to "proudly display" alongside other consumer tech, the router has an internal antenna.

The WRT54G2 ships with the Linksys EasyLink Advisor application, a simple-to-use software package designed to take away the technical hassle of setting up a wireless network.

Security can be configured with one button on the WRT54G2 thanks to the WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup) feature that sees users push the WPS button on the router and on another WPS-enabled wireless device to create an encrypted wireless connection between them.

The WRT54G2 will be available towards the end of June for a recommended price of £39.99.
